Field:

Each Box or list that contains data in Dealerlogic is referred to as a field. There are different types of fields, outlined below.

Combo:

A Combo Field enables you to select information from a drop down selection or by typing into the field. To view the available combo selections, click the combo button. This button is normally used when a card selection is required. Selecting the combo will open the corresponding card locate (either client or stock).

Buttons:

Clicking on a button in Dealerlogic performs a function that is usually described on the button as a word or icon. Buttons require a single click of your left mouse button to perform the function. The Example above will close the current window.

Edit Button:

Clicking on the edit button (the three dots to the right of the combo) enables you to edit the selected information. Since this combination relates specifically to a card selection, it will edit a selected card, either a client or stock card.

Tabs:

Tabs enable you to display additional information contained in a window. The information displayed on a tab is viewed by clicking on the particular tab.

Quick Launch:

The Quick Launch menu is used to store frequent transactions. Right click on this menu to add items.

Check Box:

A check box displays a tick that is added or removed by clicking on the field with your mouse. A Tick in the box indicates that the item associated with the check box is selected.

Radio Button:

A Radio Button is similar to a check box however radio buttons are usually part of a group of options where only one option may be selected at a time.

Menu Tabs:

The Menu tabs contains a list of menu items, clicking on one of these menu headings with your mouse will open the corresponding ribbon.

Date Field:

Date fields in Dealerlogic display a calendar icon. Clicking on the calendar icon will display a calendar, which enables you to select the required date for the field. It is possible for the date to be entered directly into this field. Alternatively, if using today’s date, you are able to click into the field and type ‘t’ which will automatically insert today’s date. It is also possible to increase or decrease the date in this field by hitting ‘+’ or ‘-‘on your keyboard.

Address is Non Compliant:
While not technically a computer term; you will encounter this from time to time. Basically what it means is that the address that is trying to be used for your CRN is not listed on the Australia Post database or the QT Database, TRAILS. In order for the address to be verified and to create the address entry, a Garaging Address Document is needed to verify that the address exists. Please refer to the section on Garaging Addresses for more information and a list of documents that can be used to verify an address.
