If you have an allocation of Plates at your dealership and have added them to your plate control register, the program allocates the next available plate number automatically into each registration transaction. The reason it does this is because one of Queensland Transports specific rulings are that Plates must be registered on vehicles in Strict Numerical Order. You must not take plates out of sequence. Queensland Transport also stipulate that all of your plates and interim labels must be kept in a locked, safe, dry environment. You will also need to select the label option of Interim Label and match the next available label number to the label that has been written out
If you do not have an allocation of plates at your dealership then you may select Fleet Plate. The plate can then be allocated by Queensland Transport once the transaction has been processed by the QT Customer Service Centre. Label selection for this option will need to be wait for Certificate and Label.
