What about Organisations? |

Organisations are obviously unable to provide a drivers licence or a birth certificate to verify their legal existence. What they can provide however are registration numbers that are verifiable and establish their legal existence. Depending on the type of organisation will dictate what number they are able to provide. Typically there are four types of organisations that you will deal with:
Companies - normally they have PTY LTD after their name •They are legal entities on their own •They will have an ACN (a company number) •They don’t require a registered operator
Businesses •The trading name is registered with the ASIC and this can be confirmed by performing a business name search •They will require a registered operator ( the proprietor/owner of the business, listed on the certificate of registration of the business name as the Holder)
Incorporated Associations (normally have inc. or assoc. inc. after their name) •They are registered with the QLD Office of Fair Trading •They are a legal entity on their own •They will be issued with a certificate of registration outlining their Incorporated Association Number (IA Number) which should be sighted by the dealership (If you need to get a CRN created, you will need to supply a copy to Dealer Solutions) •They don’t require a registered operator
Trusts •These are normally created for families/individuals •They don’t require registration with the QLD Office of Fair Trading, however they will need a Trust Deed created for them by their solicitors •The trust deed needs to be provided for you to have a CRN created, specifically the page/s of the deed outlining:
They will require a registered operator (one of the trustees) |
